Dear Jack,
I have just begun reading Clothar and am loving it as I would have suspected. I have also been reading another book "The Keys To Avalon" by Steve Blake and Scott Lloyd. Their ideas and theories have taken me aback. They believe that the Historia Regum Britannaie by Goeffrey of Monmouth is factually incorrect due to serious translation issues. They suggest that from other textx such as the Welsh Brut and many others that Arthur did not in fact leave Wales. If you have read this book and/or have opinions surrounding these theories I wouls enjoy hearing them.. Very interesting to say the least.
Sincerely
Jason H

Hi, Jason:
Sorry to be so tardy in replying . . . I've just come home from an horrendous three weeks of working travel, covering territory from Vancouver, BC, to Philadelphia, PA and points in between, and my laptop crashed as soon as I left home. Yours was/is the first entry I've even glanced at since getting back here last night.
As for The Keys To Avalon, I'm not familiar with it... I am, however, intigued by your saying that its content and ideas threw you into a bit of a tizzy . . . Why should that be? Bear in mind that there is NO hard, historical evidence anywhere to demonstrate that Arthur actually lived. There never has been. Which means that everything on the subject of King Arthur, from every source, (and that includes Geoffrey of Monmouth and Chretien de Troyes, as well as Jack Whyte and messrs. Blake and Lloyd,) is hearsay and personal opinion, backed by varying amounts and degrees of research, personal belief and conviction, but lacking in all forms of definitive academic proof. It's all opinion, Jason. Support the one you like best and enjoy most.
