The first book i read was the GOLDEN EAGLE and shortly after reading that book i have discovered that it is accually one of the last books written by jack . Now i have discovered that the first book in the Dream of Eagles series is called The Skystone but i was wondering what the second book is or accually i would like to know what the books are in order so i can buy them and read them in consession
If anyone is kind enough to post the order the series is suppose to be read in PLZ post it as areply for me it would be much appreciated
Thanks Joe
Hi Joe:
The "original" series is:
1. Skystone
2. Singing Sword
3. Eagle's Brood
4. Saxon Shore
5. Fort at River's Bend
6. Sorcerer: Metamorphosis
Jack then wrote Uther, which runs parallel to Eagle's Brood, and can be read either right after Eagle's Brood or after the rest of the orignial series.
At the urging of his fans, Jack decided to complete the story with two more books, the first being Clothar the Frank (The Lance Thrower in the U.S.) and the second being The Eagle.
Hope that helps,
Tony

the order for the Dream of Eagles, or the Camulod Chronicles is, The Skystone, The Singing Sword, The Eagle's Brood, the Saxon Shore, The Sorcerer:The Fort at the river's bend, and the Sorcerer:Metamorphisis, but i would like to know the order after that, i know uther is a side story, but what are the next books?
you stated that after the lance thrower is a book titled the eagle? is it not available in the us yet??
Hi Scar-
Jack's books have tended to run about a year behind here in the US. The Eagle was released in Canada sometime before Christmas. You can have it shipped to the US through www.nwpassages.com or amazon.ca. Welcome to the forum!

If your in America ordering the book from Canada is completely worth it. Shipping rates are high but the book is so good don't wait. Not to mention its always fun to get pacakges from other countries with almost 20 stamps of A Grizzly Bear on it.
So The Eagle is the last book in line of the camulod chronicles?
I still can not buy it over here in Europe
Is it already published?
When was it published in the States?
Hope you can help me out
It seems that I am always the first over here in Europe to order books that are either still under the pen or not out over here
Anne Rice, Robert Jordan and last but not least Jack whyte
The Lance thrower reveals the origin of Lancelot
He begins telling his story
I finished reading it (devouring is a more suitable way to describe what I did) almost two years ago
Anxiously awaiting the next in line ever since
Word was that the next book would be called Women of avalon
Now I read it is called The Eagle
Tell me something about it

What country do you live in?
I ask this because I know that the translations of the Italian language versions of Jack's books are much different than the English language titles. I would imagine this applies to several of the other languages that Jack's books are translated into as well. It may well be that once "The Eagle" is translated into whatever language version you've been reading that it will have the title "Women of Avalon".
As for your question about whether it's already published, yes it is - in it's Canadian printing version. Forge, which has published the US and International English language versions of Jack's "Camulod Chronicles" books will be releasing their version of it on December 26 of this year. Its title in that printing will also be "The Eagle".
As such, the book is readily available in Canada currently, and the Canadian printing can be purchased through the US amazon site as well.
As for telling you a little about it, I'll leave that to someone else, as I have yet to read my copy of it.
Cathy,
You haven't read The Eagle yet?

I was wondering how long it would take you to respond to that remark. :P ;)
Truth be known, Ptar, I haven't even been able to get through "Clothar the Frank" yet. The book just isn't grabbing me. I've made several attempts to read it, but I get bored and put it down. I think about the furthest I've gotten into it is about 150 pages before giving up.
I'm beginning to think that Jack should have just gone ahead with his Templar Knights Trilogy a few years back and not given in to fans' demands that he write about Arthur's life as King.
"The Skystone" drew me into the "Dream of Eagles" storyline from page one. If "Clothar" is ever going to do the same for "The Golden Eagle", it's probably going to be once I've managed to slog through a far more substantial portion of it than I've managed to read so far.

I really liked reading The Lance Thrower... I really enjoyed the ending as well. It's more his tyle of writing that got me hooked- his attention to detail and portrayal of life during those times. Also, knowing that Clothar would someday come into contact with Arthur and Merlyn had me hooked. I really hope he's working on the next in the series. I will buy the Templars book when it makes paperback. I love this stuff! I have even begun to try to live according to the ways and prinicples of the outstanding men in these books, in truth they have made me a better person.
