After The Eagles' Brood

I'm halfway thru The Eagles' Brood and just picked up The Saxon Shore.I also noticed that book#7 Uther takes place during Eagles' Brood. My question is this: Do I need to read The Saxon Shore next or can I read Uther? Does it matter? Thanks

Re:After The Eagles' Brood

It really doesn't matter once you've finished "The Eagles' Brood". "Uther" was written after "The Sorcerer" so it can be read at any time, but you might find the details of "EB" still fresh in your mind if you read "Uther" next. Those of us who read the books as they were published didn't have a choice. I might have read "Uther" next, if I'd had the choice, but I was dying to know what happened to Merlyn after the end of "EB" so I'd probably have continued with "Saxon Shore" anyway.

Hows that for confusing?;)

Thanks Susan.I'll grab Uther. Not that confusing.Guess that's one of the advantages of coming to a series late.

Maybe you should wait to decide. The end of EB is pretty compelling.

You'll see......

I don't know, I think skipping the saxon shore in favor of some quick synopsis would be faorable. I believe (and no one cares what I have to say) that the saxon shore is the slowest most awful book in the series. Important things happen but it can be explain in about 2 minutes. I think the saxon shore is so bad it took me eight years to read. I quit the series just because of it. I tried to read it out of spite 4 times in those eight years. When I finished I blew through "the fort" and "the metemorphesis" in a matter of days, but the saxon shore... ugh.

Enjoy! I envy you the fun of reading the series for the first time. I've read the series three times, but of course nothing can compare to the first time when you don't know what's coming next.

I enjoyed Saxon Shore, though my favorite was Fort at Rivers Bend. (I'm in the minority there) If you haven't checked it out, go to the home page and click on polls under the main menu. You can view the favorites of the series and their percentages there. Skystone is the big winner.

I actually enjoyed The Eagles' Brood more. Im just finishing up Singing sword for the first time, for me its the last in the series, nit counting Uther, still got yet to read that.... But ya, of all the ones that I read, Eagles' Brood is my fav.
